Lord Dhanwantari is considered as God of Health in the History of Ayurveda. According to Vedas & Puranas, He was the Physician of the Gods and also an excellent surgeon. Worshipers pray him, seeking his blessings for sound healing.
Bhagavata Purana states that Dhanvantari emerged from the Ocean of Milk during the ksheera Sagara Mathana and appeared with Jalauka (Leech) in the right hand and Amrita Kalasha (Nectar Pot) in the left hand, indicating restoring the health from diseases and enhancing the health through medicines respectively.
It is an unique Kerala Style temple for Lord Dhanwantari with Maha Sudarshana Yantra vimana Gopuram, which is one among the very few temples situated in India.
Being the lord of Health and also Considering the spiritual aspects, giving positive vibes, this temple is built inside the Pothuru Hospital premises.
